You can't cheat the statistics, ever since joining i have been successful and found some meanings to my life.
Also through community meet a lot of important people that helped grow my businesses,

Just read a bit about it, then find synagogue that is not too orthodox,
since it might be a bit hard for you to understand anything.
I'm currently part of conservative community, and those in my opinion are easiest to join in.
Just simply read about some basic rules, and simply go out there and be motivate talk to rabbi.
They are very friendly al through he might pursue you not to convert (The more orthodox the harder it is to join),
but just keep on pushing, and show him you are really interested, motivate, and curious, eventually he will help you and guide you.
You should keep away from money subject at first, then the more you are into community the more freely you can talk about it.
Also if you know some Jewish friend he might help you out, talk with about it he will teach you a lot.
And about the blood, you don't have to be Jewish to join, some things might be harder for you,
but if you pursue it enough you can become a real member of community.
Also don't worry rabbi are very friendly, and even if you are shy you can act like tourist and just talk about religion to get started.
The more involved in community you will get the easier it will be for you, and the more you will get motivated newcomers are really welcome.
