Hey /biz/ I mined BTC on my core duo PC back in 2009. I used the linux distro ubuntu but I rememeber locking the folder i saved my private key in. The HDD is still in my moms garage. I mined for about 6-8 monthw before my parents found out that the reason the power bill was high was because of my PC. I knew little about BTC and i wasn't interested either but just left my computer on. The miner was a startup program so im sure it was doing something. How many BTC do you think i coule have locked away in my HDD.
What's stopping you from going downstairs into the garage and getting the hard drive?
I moved out years ago. I live in a different state now.

He doesn't actually have a hard drive, and his parents are too poor to have a garage. Also he hasn't seen his mom in years, since she ran off with that truck driver with the dirty pants.

>its another larp thread
>but this time it has so many factual errors
fake story

watch porn , learn a language, cook a meal, do something with your life
How many coins do you guys think are permanently left out of circulation due to shit like this? Satoshi alone is said to have 1m BTC and he's probably dead.

The fact that it seems like a fake story makes me feel that i wouldve mined a pretty nice amount.

His bitcoin address is still active so he is likely still alive.
do you go home for the holidays? look for it on thanksgiving, or Christmas. if not call your mom and have her look for it and mail it to you, covered in bubble wrap.

I'm going this Christmas anon, Ive spoken to my younger brother on social media his the one that told me the PC was in the garage

I hope so all I remember about the miner was it trying to sync with the network here and there. Sometimes I'd see numbers displayed on the GUI but had no idea what it was actually doing.

>Not using a quad-core in 2009
>still thinking intel core duo was acceptable beyond 2007

Tell your parents that you want that old computer next time you visit. Pray the HDD still has data on it and image the drive. Enjoy you $500k and claim it as zero cost long term gains.
Could you only mine with CPUs back in 2009?
Go over their now, surprise them, and take the hdd. Jesus fuck you probably have 100k minimum, nearer 1mil
