so this isn't just a token, its an incentive for a new internet 3.0 - based on IPFS

why isnt this being talked about more. dont say "sia" - they dont have a new internet, they are just storage. filecoin is a means to ipfs

For someone who might not know what the fuck you're talking about, do you want to initiate the conversation by detailing it yourself?
>>

You can't buy this yet right? I'll talk about it when I hold some

i'm not a programmer. so i dont know how to explain it. protocol labs developed ipfs, and then using filecoin to incentivise

its web 3.0 thats how 2 respected vc's are funding it and also getting to be the first approved SEC compliant ico, and also 1st on coinlist - a new platform for issuing their coins

2 most respected vc's - seqoia and union square bought in.

it essentially removes http and replaces it with its structure, filecoin makes it happen

https://ipfs.io/

"Filecoin works as an incentive
layer on top of IPFS [1], which can provide storage infrastructure for any data. It is especially useful
for decentralizing data, building and running distributed applications, and implementing smart contracts."

IPFS has been around for years and hasn't gone anywhere. Protocol Labs has a history of promising the moon. They also fucked over everyone with their ridiculous Filecoin ICO.

Protip: in the tech world, we have a saying: "Worse is better." The Next Big Thing usually isn't a sweeping overhaul of all the existing technologies and protocols. It's a small but significant improvement on existing infrastructure that starts out kinda clunky but eventually gains a massive following and patches up the holes as it goes. See: Unix, Javascript, x86, and about a billion others.
