What's the point? I can buy gold anytime I want, I don't need a crypto for that.
Price of token will depend on the price of gold. So you are basically investing into a gold.... . And you are taking a risk, that this service will not even ever work. If you wanna invest into good, just invest in normal established market.... .

Crypto backed by a physical asset is always a scam. Do you think they're going to handle storage and distribution for free? How is that sustainable long term?
what about GOLDC, the internet of GOLD!

I recently bought gold from company that I trust.
I could have chosen to store the gold there but instead I let them ship it to me.
If you live in the US, do not trust the gold company's, they do dodgy things with it.
My point is, the idea of a gold based blockchain has potential.
But you would have to trust the party storing the physical gold for you.
This is not a minor thing, and is why people favor BTC over gold.
If you ask me, you should invest in both.
But I would say away form gold based blockchain coins until they have proven themselves.
Its not as if you would miss a big profit because their price should be linked to the gold price which is pretty stable.
> people don't even believe you when you take them to a vault and show them your gold
> expecting them to believe in a "gold backed" blockchain
