I've been thinking of getting into crypto but can't be bothered to keep up with prices or new pump and dump alt coins
Would it be stupid to just put $100 each into BTC, ETH, and LTC a month? I figure that way I'm not in too deep in the event of a crash and can average down by buying dips as well as keep up with all time highs as they happen.
BTC, ETH, LTC and XMR are safe investments, don't expect to be a millionaire withing a day though

I figured the boat sailed a while ago. I'm just going to treat it as a way to get more return on my money

BTC, ETH and LTC are the long term "low risk" options, so if you don't mind waiting 5 years+ then go for it
Put $300 into Monero instead
Buy BAT
Averaging your cost is a better strategy than most of /biz/ can imagine so yes, you're thinking the right way.

then don't get into crypto

I think this is wise. However, I am not certain on LTC being safe. It has had massive swings down in the past, and taken a very long time to recover.
A lot of people on here are memeing. I've only done this a few months, and came in and invested right BEFORE the bear market started- I bought ETH at 340. Held it all the way down to when it got below 200 or whatever and didn't panic. My 7k investment is worth 17k now, in about three months. Would have had around 30k if I came in a couple weeks earlier. My point is this- you CAN and WILL make money, just don't panic when things go south.
The key is to be smart. Shitcoins are shitcoins- I have about 15% of my portfolio in them to daytrade, just to make gains to add to BTC and ETH. Just remember to NEVER sell at a loss.

$100 in BTC + $200 in XMR would be a better plan.
