Can someone explain me what makes a coin go up or down in price?
Let's say you have a shitcoin at $1 with a $100 million market cap. So logic would dictate that if $100 million more entered that market cap it would go to $2.
But if that's the case how come the buyers and sellers determine the price? What if that same $1 shitcoin releases some news that its partnering with Apple and buyers start offering at $4, and people start buying at that price, but the market cap is still around $100 million, so what the fuck, which one is it?
Market cap would be 400Mil then
supply and demand

It’s shut the fuck up and buy bitbean
It's the second one.

hence why it's called supply and DEMAND
if no one buys it at 4 dollars it doesnt matter what sellers want for it

You fucking retard, yes it does. Market cap = supply x price

Leave now. If you ever start trading I can guarantee you will lose everything. Stick to wagecucking, it's safer for you.

Market cap means market capitalization, yes. It is literally price x shares (or coins). When you see a price shoot up stupid, market cap is your sanity check on price valuation. Finance 101 broham.

Its a market and not a company. If the price jumps from 1 to 4 yes the MARKET cap will be 400 millions. But if tomorrow your local hotdog stand starts selling a hot dog for 1 million usd, it still will not be a multi million dollar business. A market implies demand to sustain the price
