literally any coin can hard fork to become quantum resistant, at any possible moment.
from bitcoin to ethereum, they can just hard fork and become quantum resistant in 5 years or 10 years when it actually becomes an issue.

When those hard forks happen, how far will they go back?
When quantum computers start being used and get used to fake a few transactions, it's not going to be an immediately noticeable thing. Once it's obvious, people are going to be suspicious of the last week or month or year of transactions. Even if it's obvious how far to rewind for the hardfork, there will be a hit to the confidence in the coin and that will hurt the price.

But really there will be arguments about how far to rewind history in the hard fork. There might be multiple hard forks made, splitting the value of the currency N ways. The arbitrariness will hurt the currency further.

QRL won't have that issue, so diversifying into it means you won't get completely fucked as the world shifts in response to quantum computers.
