Reasonable amount for reasonable rist.

Since a huge junk of humanity likes to gamble (see toto lotto, betting, etc ) and thats a multi dezens or even hundrets of billions market per month, this infestment is veeeery hard to not bring in some decent gains.

Problem is you need a day to transfer money to bitstamp. LTC is better than BTC because it can be transfered way faster.
There is no way you can invest a substantial amount quickly if you don't have anything of this lined up already.
Buying with paypal is limited to a low amount and your fees are insane

stox is only available on liqui and hitbtc at the moment, and neither have a means of allowing you to buy bitcoin with USD or CAD or whatever fiat you may hold—and, even if they did, it looks like most exchanges that allow you to buy crypto with fiat require you to submit to a verification process. this could take up to few days—but, if you're in the US, i think that coinbase allows you to buy bitcoin with USD, and their verification is pretty fast
just, a note of caution, though—if you're gonna sign up for coinbase on your phone, i can almost assure you that you SHOULD NOT try to do the photo ID verification in your phone's browser. it will fail every time, and you'll hit the limit and have a wait 24 hours. download their app; it has at least a semi-competent camera element.
as for a bitcoin wallet, mycelium seems pretty great. i've had no issues with it. transfers can take a little while, and from what i've experienced, i'm not completely benefitting from the implementation of segwit yet—so, transactions are still kinda slow, and will run you a few bucks. it's worth it in the end.
