its only up because people cashing out from the recent BCH appreciation are seeking refuge and they refuse to buy BTC or ETH. kind of ironic they would pick the other segwit coin to stash their BCH gains but they probably just sought it out for its stability

tl;dr nothing is new with LTC, it will probably slowly return to normal 40's or dip even lower in the short term. not saying LTC is a bad long term investment. you just picked a particularly bad time to buy in
