Ok guise, so the situation is as follows - I have $150k saved, kept in a bank in my local currency. With all the talk about an impending crash, and myself being quite vary of fiduciary money, what do I do with it? Thought about buying a flat, but right now a 40m2 apartment costs like $100k, which is ridiculous. I also remember what happened in Cyprus, and I really would not want to see my familys savings go to fucking shit, stolen by the EU shills and banks. So, should I buy gold? 125k bucks will get me like 2,5 kilo, which I can then stash somewhere. Wat do, pol?
If a crash does come then hedges against the dollar like gold, silver, and cryptos are best. Obviously cryptos are more speculative but if your country's dollar is weakened by the crash it should serve a similar purpose. Definitely don't buy an overpriced flat. Another good idea is to "prep" by buying food and supplies that will last for years. It doesn't have to necessarily be for a SHTF scenario, even in a mild economic downturn prices will likely rise and it will be nice to be able to reduce your costs if someone in your family is laid off.
>I have $150k saved, kept in a bank in my local currency.
in other words, inflation is currently eating away at this - even with interest. that's a huge amount of money to keep in a savings account. you currently seem to be 100% invested in a currency. please diversify.

Diversify your fucking assets. Keep enough free to deal with whatever life throws at you, and if you really want to put all your eggs in one basket then dump the rest in an index fund. Preferably a decent mix of a high-return index like Nasdaq composite and a safer one. Housing is volatile as all hell, very bad idea to invest in only property and outright retarded to invest most of your money in just one property at that, and dumping it all in gold is just stupid. Nothing wrong with some gold as a SHTF countermeasure, but you do not want it as your main asset.
Investors are mostly jackoffs riding market trends, don't trust them. Just dump it in an index fund.
