Nothing wrong with suggesting that it will ease the backlog moving forward (if enough users switch to SegWit addresses/wallets) but that's not really a guarantee.

Most relevant wallets and services are ready, I can only spot 2 relevant ones (coinbase and mycellium) that aren't explicitly ready but are 'wip'.
There are a number of ways through which unconfirmed tx get evicted from the mempool. Backlogged non-segwit tx are a non-issue and should go away within days.
