Just look at which coins are holding and you'll know what to do

it's simple, people sell alts for BTC during BTC bull runs and sell them for fiat when BTC dips and buy alts when BTC goes sideways

Because bitcoin has historically had the monopoly on market cap and trading pairs, so whenever people took money out of exchanges. the entire market went to shit because the cap fell, so other shitcoins would get bundled with the selling since the futures for everything in the market got fucked.

Now as bitcoin slowly loses cap share to eth and other potential replacements, we will begin to see a change.

In fact you can see it today, bitcoin went down but ripple and monero are trending up, while eth and litecoin are flat, which says that people are starting to think of the alternatives now instead of just selling the whole market.
