>rude but good at job
>nice but bad at job
guess who got promoted biz
>rude and bad at job
Top tier, gets all promotions.
Hopefully not the rude faggot because the nice guy can work on his performance whereas the rude faggot will likely remain a rude faggot for eternity.

Depends on what you mean by rude. Many people confuse honesty and rudeness for one another.
The straight forward, honest asshole that communicates honesty he believes must be said, and actually does his job well, will actually be liked by employers. But not necessarily promoted since he's good at his position, unless he shows honest ability to understand higher positions.
The dude who is just rude without any purpose, rudeness for the sake of it, will not be liked. No matter how good he is at his job. Unless others desperately rely on his position and don't often interact with him.
While nice but bad at the job may actually be the superior choice for promotion to management positions.
Being bad at the lower job doesn't necessarily mean being bad at knowing what the job is and managing others. It could be a physical skill issue.
Logically, you would chose to promote based off who will better at the promoted position. Which is really hard to tell if they're stuck at the bottom.

You could ask management if there are any open positions. Show some initiative. If you are both nice and good, then they should at least be willing to listen.
