Would a Bitcoin split be technically possible?
I know it's just a psychological thing, but $4,000 for a single "coin" sounds kind of ridiculous.
No. Exchanges and merchants will start to use μbits to make the value more legible.
It can be split infinitely, wtf is your point?
BTC costs too much?
I guess we will eventually start talking about trading "satoshis of Bitcoin" if the price go full retard.
Just to clarify I mean split as in
>stock split or stock divide increases the number of shares in a company. The price is adjusted such that the before and after market capitalization of the company remains the same and dilution does not occur
So, the answer is no?
The fork worked just fine
to expensive?

Why would it need to "split" if it can already be divided by satoshis? Can't exactly do that with shares so what would even be the point.
>tfw we will reach a time in the future where we can buy our groceries for 40 sats

As said in the OP, it's just a psychological thing.
No investor is going to sweat over having to pay $5 for a share, and still they split.

Can't tell if serious or not

Yeah and limited supply is also a psychological thing too, called scarcity.
I wouldn't be opposed to a split actually, because bitcoin is going to be a more popular thing and if people coming into it see a 10,000 dollar price tag they will be turned away
You can buy 23965 satoshis for a dollar. What a deal!
