what does the 8th mean for bitcoin as a whole?
If segwit doesn't get locked in does that mean BCC wins and will be greatly pumped?
I need to know because I'm considering putting a lot of money on it either the 8th or the 14th when Poloniex dumping commences.

Why would you even think this is possible?

BIP-91 lock-in does not guarantee segwit will be activated unless BIP-91 is actually enforced

Don't go all in.
No one knows if this is all a scam or not.
It could be - and I'm hodling on regardless.
Key thing to watch is whether it becomes more profitable to mine.
In 3 days the bitcoin difficulty will adjust, so the Bch miners could pull support and mine Bch.
If that happens the price will probably be pumped concomittantly.
Be careful - there will be a lot of pink wojak s around next week

They tend to come out when things get volatile, along the lines of
>my baaaaaagss
>why didn't i buy more
> I sold it all before it moooned

Segwit may get get locked in but alot of Chinese miners may immediately abandon it soon after for BCC, having Segwit actually in gives them an excuse to leave the chain.
I think everyone gloating about the rise of BTC and fall of BCC might be in for a rude awakening. Btw i'm not politically for either side, just here to make money.
Segwit will get locked in. Miners will not leave. It's already priced in. Nothing will happen.
