One more question. Do self interested altcoin holders try to convince everyone that their particular obscure coin is going to moon? In an attempt to increase the value of their altcoins by bringing in more people. It seems like a good 15-20% of the posts on /biz/ are posted for that exact reason. Or am I wrong?

Yes, many people here are bagholders who only want to sell their coins for higher prices, that's why you will see bagholder threads more often like Bitbean, Antshares etc.

Some stable coins like LTC have threads as well but the price is too stable so people try to either dump or pump it.

The better coins won't have many threads. But of course also new and unfamous ones. When did you last see multiple Iota threads? Or multiple Feathercoin threads? Viacoin? Bitcoin Dark? etc etc.

I as well sold my BTC I had since 2014 once i received the free BCC (which should be around 60$ now) and moved them for the meantime in Monero, will buy back once the dip comes at the weekend or so.

I'm wondering if maybe it will be too late by then. Japan accepts a lot of bitcoins and stores and stuff but they put that on hold till I think the 4th till this fork thing blows over. Once Japan starts accepting bitcoins again in physical locations, will bitcoin shoot up? Anyone know anything about this?
