I didn't sell my alts early enough get a good amount of btc/bcc. Now everything is down 10-20% this week.

Would it be smart to hedge this situation by selling everything to tether then buy cheap btc once the fork happens then jump back into alts? How high is btc likely to go before the fork? It's already near 2800.

just hold at this point don't be stupid.
>>
yea, what if btc doesnt drop at all? what then? I think you're better off just holding
>>
I'm in the same boat. HODL!
>>
>he isn't in fiat already
Wtf are you doing. Enjoy your >50% losses.
>>
>>2917250
unironically this
>not buying into BTC right after the fork crash
>>
>>2917209

>what if it doesn't dip at all

Of course its going to dip at some point brainlet, the question is how much it dips by, that will determine whether holding btc through the upcoming fork crash was the right thing to do or not.
>>
>>2917258
>implying it will crash
70% of orders are shorts, as soon as we start mooning just a little bit the shorts will panic and cover and we will short squeeze up to 4k
>>
Thing is, you can never lose money holding fiat during an extremely volitile situation for bitcoin. Whilst btc won't definitely crash, there is a strong possibility, so holding some fiat protects you from financial devastation.
>>

Ok, so it's it too late to convert all BTC and altcoins into usdt?
>>
>>2917334

Well it isn't too late, but let what you think is a rationale outcome dictate your actions. My decision to hold a majority of my easily liquidable assets in fiat is based on the following.

A) People are holding btc for bcc, after august 1st they have no reason not to sell.
B) If bcc is successful in any way it will bleed money from btc
C) holding fiat is insurance against heavy losses if there is a mega-crash
D) Crypto market tends to be cyclical, there has been no evidence the summer bearish tendencies have ended, and the summers have typically been a lull period for crypto for the past several years, recovering towards october. I suspect summer is the time most people opt to cash out for vacations and so forth

That said, crypto sometimes follows nonsensical market tendencies so btc may moon regardless. Up to you.
