A most likely scenario that BTC will hold or even rise today because the sell walls are mostly gone to get free BCC so the road is clear and people are still buying to get free BCC and alts will dip even more and at August 1 people will see the high priced BTC and low priced alts so they will sell their BTC and BCC and buy back into cheap alts.

the opposite has happened, everyone got in due to muh free money

People have been selling alts to buy BTC to get "free" BCC. Other people have been holding off selling BTC for the same reason. While there is institutional money wanting to buy in, they will wait for a clear winner to emerge. BTC is bound to drop on Aug 1, before a sharp recovery.
