I need a recommendation on a CRM databse.
I run a company that sells wheelchair lifts, light duty elevators, etc. I need a simple, (prefereably free) database to manage my customers.
It's got to be something to keep track of the customers, what machines they own, repair history, service history, etc.
Does anybody have a recommendation?
I've been playing around with a fre programs like hubspot, but those seem to be mostly geared towards marketing.
I'm looking for something more like an automechanic would use.

Spreadsheets

I was hoping for something that could be accessed by smartphone and could be queried.
We've got about 3-400 active customers. Spreadsheets might be a little cumbersome.
You'd be better off asking this question of /g/
What's your budget?
Salesforce can you give that and it's interface looks like it's made for children, easy to understand

I like the sound of that! Is it expensive?

Salesforce was out-of-this-world expensive last time I checked.
You might try pipedrive, but it is sales oriented again

Let me check pipedrive.
I've poked around a couple free ones. It seems like they all could work, but I'd have to do a lot of customization.
All of these seem 100 times more complicated than I need them to be. i.e. I'm not really concerned with statistics, metrics, or even tracking finances.
Look into some of Epicor's ERP systems. A little different than CRM but has a lot of the same capabilities. I currently use Eclipse/Solar. I believe it was orifinally designed for plumbing/HVAC but my company uses it for redistribution. I've used it for about 6 years and the company has used it for about 20. It has served us well. Used it back when we had 4 branches, now we have 15.
Let me know if you have any specific questions. I understand accounting, purchasing, operations, cust service for the most part.
