If BTC goes to zero you'll never exchange a single unit of Tether to USD. They openly state there's no guarantee of exchange and there's no way they're holding 1:1 reserves. If you're predicting a severe market crash, you get real fiat, nothing less.

That's all the more reason to be holding Bitcoin, because you won't be able to collect any BCC if you're not on the ledger when it forks. It's just another altcoin, it's not out of the question that they both continue to exist at varying values.
