I got out of the military last year and just finished up my bachelor's degree. I've thought about pursuing a MBA. Is a MBA even worth it these days?
Some people are telling me to work on a specialized Masters Degree in something like procurement or Supply Chain Management instead.
Can someone give me any insight into this? Which would be better for me to work on? A MBA or a specialized Masters degree?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

You're wasting your time if it isn't a STEM degree.

Mathematics major here. My biggest regret in college was not studying more finance or economics.
First of all because everything taught in upper mathematics could be learned through private research at a slower pace to better absorb it instead of cramming a summary of all algebraic topology into a single semester.
Meanwhile all I end up doing out of college anyway is studying finance and my math degree has done nothing but make people go "oh...cool, you must be smart....So what can you do?"
I've been told by several people that the market is saturated with people who have MBA's and that the degree isn't worth what it used to be and that I should focus on something more specialized like Supply Chain Management.
However, I've heard that it never HURTS to have an MBA and it can make you stand out among your peers.
With this being said, I'm very conflicted and wanted to hear if anyone had any opinions on the matter.

MBA is pointless to hold now-a-days.

MBA in finance would be a good one to have. I have my BA (business admin) which is a pretty "general" degree and have thought about getting my MBA in finance. Supply chain management might be ok but you might be going a little too focused with that. Finance is a good use all-around.
An MBA is only worth it if you go to a top 20 business school or if your employer pays for it.
