I just lost my job at a proprietary trading firm in HK. I have years of data that I hoarded while working as a quant. How does someone go about finding buyers for corporate data?

this is a great way to find an early grave
Deep web duh
What kind of data? Be more specific OP

I basically hoarded everything I could. Mainly the following:
>complete tick data going back over a decade showing all transactions made by [firm] for all financial assets traded
>Documents/memos/manuals explaining the firms tech
>Employee and client information
>Intellectual property

>complete tick data going back over a decade
must be gigabytes of data. what would they use this for?

If you don't have the latest data then forget it. No hedge fund or investor is going to use your service unless they don't know any other vendors to buy from.
Also You won't make much money on selling archived data unless you undercut on prices.

I had a job at a sw sales channel for some vendor
got laid off, took the entire client history with me
sold that shit for 2 years' salary worth to competition :^)
thing is, I have a vast network of people so it was a breeze to set it all up and I got paid over a quarter for consulting :^)
last time I checked my former employer cut down the staff in half, must've lost a bunch of customers
How much would you want op, realistically ...
