I need a way out /biz/
I'm so fucking sick of sitting at a desk shilling insurance policies to retards 8 hours a day for barely enough money to save / invest anything. Looking for suggestions on fields / jobs to look into or alternative sources of income.
I don't mind working, but I fucking hate straight sales. Three years of this and it's either get out or kms.
I've got a little experience in petroleum development from working the Bakken shale boom a few years back, and experience in IT from a few jobs I picked up here and there doing POS integration and network admin shit. I can operate all forms of heavy equipment. I have no education credentials or certifications of any kind besides my insurance licenses. I have no qualms whatsoever about embellishing or even straight lying on my resume. I'm good at sounding like I know what I'm talking about to retards, and a quick learner. I live in the SW US. I've got a ~$40,000 "investment fund" right now. Current household income is ~$110k USD. I need to gross $35k/year at absolute minimum base on my financials. I could go without income for about 6 months before it started to cut into my principal.
Do I start looking for IT work? Should I start dropping resumes off at long shots like Goldwater Institute? Since I have a little capital and decent credit, should I just start a business? I just need out of this industry.
Prostitution isn't an option because relationship, pure sales of any kind is right out. I'm open to suggestions.

I was considering trying to get into the cannabis industry here in Arizona. Recreational didn't pass here last election cycle, but it was close. Close enough that it's about guaranteed to pass during the next elections, or maybe the one after. The elderly voting base that votes against is dying off.
Based on how the industry performed in Colorado and recently Nevada after recreational passed, it seems like a potential gold mine. That said, I don't know much about the industry itself. Would it be better to get in as a grower or a dispensary? I know a guy with a biology degree that would work for me for shit wages because he's a good natured retard.
Is there as much money to be made here as I think, and if so how horrendous are the regulatory requirements? I know MJ businesses are insurable at decent rates at least, so that's one thing.
