Yes, I substantially boosted my annual salary significantly by being smart, if you enjoy making logos and what not, you should probably expand upon that, make a portfolio and try to get a better job, if that doesn't work out for you, you should probably go full free-lance mode and show everyone what you're capable of, go to linkedin and make a profile, get a website and stay active on facebook, I know this sounds retarded but getting affiliation/connection and staying in touch with people that could help you rise up is the best thing you can do.

if you want to make money at doing art related stuff, you should probably focus on 3D Modeling and animation, there are sites that helps you learn that, I advise using CGPEERS when the registration opens up on the 30th/1th or the 15th of any month, learn basic 3D and sell assets, learn your demographic, I started out selling models on turbosquid and I chose specifically the field of architecture and anatomy, doctors and architect faggots love that shit and will buy it off of you, the more you make the higher the chances of you getting paid, also, I can't stress this enough, enrich your portfolio, that shits important, people will look at your stuff and contract you, you just need to exploit your field more and stay more in touch with people who also works in the field, do some courses if you need to, contact your professor and get him to help you out on your art related career.

the worst thing that you could do now is being a worthless NEET, also do NOT take liberal arts course, if you do you're an imbecile, just stick to what you're good at and make a system out of it.

If you know how to draw (not only graphics like logo and so), then do erotic / porno commissions.
You will need to bandwagon a little bit, but you can make good money.
Just set up a deviantart acount, some juicy pictures, and a commission fee chart (usually for sketch, flat color and shadow color picture).

I've been learning 3d modeling, problem is that it takes a lot of time to produce something worthy of being sold. Modeling, texturing and rigging a single high res character or environment can take weeks if not months.

Are you joking? that's not how the film industry works. It's producers and agents who usually option your work, that an an option on 10 other properties too... they then create a "package" with an agent and shop it around, hoping at least one of their properties gets developed.

if you want to make it in theatrically released film then what you need to do is pre-sell your film to as many sales agents as possible, preferably get a producer in a country with big tax off-sets and subsidies to co-produce for you and organize sales in other territories. Oh, and get "private funding" like Uwe Boll use to do, tax write off you see.
