My dad's a state attorney and my mom works for a large financial bank. They told me yesterday that I need to pull my funds out of crypto by the end of the year. State & Federal regulations are in the works to make buying/selling crypto harder to do in the United States.

1. Banks will no longer allow users to buy crypto from known exchanges or allow deposits/transfers into your account from known exchanges starting January 1st.

2. Banks can close your account if they find out you bought or deposited money from crypto exchanges.

Buy Monero then. Its whole purpose is to usurp laws and regulations. Darknet markets already accept XMR as a payment option alongside BTC. Unlike BTC it actually is untraceable.
>>
>>2821792
And how exactly are they planning to do that? Care to share specifics, otherwise FUD and thx for playing.

not what I asked. How are they going to make it so Banks no longer allow it? They would have to pass a law that makes it completely illegal which I don't see happening ever.
>>
>>2821985
>ha HA I am not in the United States therefore I am good to go!
You have to be dumb not to realize that crypto becoming basically unusable in the USA means that the value is going down to basically nothing
>>
>>2821981
>Many banks already do that btw.
bullshit.. I'm yet to see actual proof of that too.
>>
>>2822014
Not an answer to your question, but keep in mind that banks have already closed accounts for trading in cryptos, seemingly out of their own volition.
>>
>>2821981
This. If true, the price of all crypto would skyrocket. Also, the major networks would not be listing bitcoin as a commodity, there would be radio silence.
Coinbase probably would not have all the bank APIs that they do if the banking cabal was trying to drive it out.
>>2822014
Some banks have made their API available to Coinbase already. That seems like a tacit acceptance. Too many people are using it every day for it be some underground hipster shit anymore.
>>2822030
That was back when the trading sites did not comply with banking ID regulations, now everything is very strict and you don't hear about it as much. The banks see the money to be had and some of them are cooperating. Most of the people who get popped now are moving too much money around and breaking other rules.
>>
>>2822016
if it becomes unusuable in USA the price can only rise not fall you idiots, especially if they go full war on crypto
>>
>>2822030
even if that's somewhat true, sporadic denial of transactions by certain banks doesn't mean anything. They are essentially shooting themselves in the knee imo. If they don't wanna except it, other banks will and learn to profit from it.
>>

isn't the whole point of crypto to get away from banks??
>>
To everyone making stupid comments, this is already happening on a small scale in the UK, so I expect it will be happening in Europe too.

Just do a quick google search, banks have been closing accounts linked to bitcoin often and without reason. It makes sense. Heck, my banks, both business and personal will not allow transfers to most of the big names like Coinbase and so on

>>2822047
You're all goddamn brainlets. If normies stop buying bitcoin on Coinbase and Localbitcoins, and demand for bitcoin shrinks, how in hell is its price supposed to skyrocket?

Damn, I hate brainlets so much, but thanks for losing all that cash in the crypto game, I'll make use of it
>>
>>2822082
Because when you make something illegal the supply gets cut and the price naturally rises, if anything if they make it illegal it would only gather more normie attention, not that you can really demonstratively ban cryto you absolute nigger
>>
>>2822071
Just go to CB and look at the list of banks available when you link an account. Do business with them.
>>2822082
lmao. Look at literally anything that has been made illegal. Alcohol, drugs, guns, anything illegal is expensive as fuck. Legalization always drives price down. Prohibition always increases prices. Bitcoin is not a consumable, it's a commodity.
>>
>>2822100
>Because when you make something illegal the supply gets cut and the price naturally rises

not if you literally can't use it anymore.

>not that you can really demonstratively ban cryto you absolute nigger

you can't ban crpyto but you can ban transfers from exchanges. Sites like localbitcoins would in effect also become illegal. And so far, you can't pay your bills with buttcoins or go grocery shopping so you still need that fiat hit
>>
>>2822100
The problem is that you can ban financial access to crypto. Do you really think that Mr. Dad Normieson will meet with his dealer in a black alley to buy BTC?
>>
>ITT people who think this is FUD but haven't seen the UK has been closing bank accounts for this exact reason for YEARS
>>
>>2822100
>Because when you make something illegal the supply gets cut
No it doesn't, retard. Do you even have any idea what you're talking about, huh? This is not beer or guns or drugs, this is BLOCK CHAIN. The supply of coins remains the same as it was, it's all fucking decentralized, they can't confiscate it. But the demand actually become less, because normies think, "oh, it's prohibited, so I won't bother spending money on it"
>>
>>2822121
Have you considered the possibility that many people don't care?
If it does happen BTC will take a hit but crypto will keep going without the US or UK.
>>
>>2822141
No doubt, but it's a fucker in terms of risk, hassle and overall speed to have to funnel money through other countries/currencies to get in and out of crypto
>>
>>2822107
>Look at literally anything that has been made illegal. Alcohol, drugs, guns, anything illegal is expensive as fuck
Because in all of those cases the government CONFISCATES those things. But it can't confiscate the block chain, do you get it, dummy? The supply of coins is totally unaffected. The demand shrinks, because everyone's scared to exchange cash for bitcoins.
>>
just cash out in bitcoin the banks can't stop that

>>2822159
Look simple, several people are trying to tell you the same thing. The banks are already in on it. If you don't think it is bankers who are behind all the exchanges, including coinbase, you are deluded. In the last year or so, every single outlet has tightened up their operation to be in compliance. If you stay inside the banks hidden rule book about how much risk you are exposing the bank to, you have nothing to worry about. People who constantly empty their account and do risky trading shit will get their account crypto or not.
The news networks have already legitimized it as an investment. There is too much traction to go back now.
>>
>>2822178

And I don't care if this scenario is real or not.

Good.

Crypto is a ponzi plus insecure fraud. It should be regulated more heavily than penny stocks and PayDay loans for preying on dumb, innocent people.

Ethereum is a Russian contrivance too.

I hope it's banned and the IRS throws the book at anyone with so much as a single transaction on an exchange. This is literally worse than online gambling and there is no argument whatsoever it shouldn't also be banned by Congress.
