Can someone explain why gdax has so many odd things happening?

I've noticed strange things like this for 2-3 days now.

>price jumps up high or down low
>obvious manipulation happening
If you control the exchange/trading you can control & manipulate the coins, right?

You sure that's not a problem on cryptowatch's end but GDAX?
I'd find that more likely that they have a field or two out of sync with each other or something along those lines.
