With all the FUD regarding the two Major coins, a lot of profits of the last bull run is flowing from the typical exchanges (bitrex, polo, etc) to the smaller ones, into promising small cap/low volume coins.
While literally everything was in the red during the last minor drop, many coins on cryptopia/nova/coinexchange actually picked up a lot of volume and started mooning.
So in order to avoid another weekend of -30% on your whole portfolio, I would really recommend you to look into some of these coins.

So what to look out for? volume should at least be over 1btc on the buy side. look out for coins with active development and a big surrounding community. (active slack channel and good communication on bitcointalk forums). Remember: Prof-of-stake/digital piggybank coins are hot right now.

Look into NETKO, ADC, RAIN, NTRN, HBN, INSN, CRAVE, RNS
