Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com
> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.
> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

Am I retarded lads?
When is Robin Hood life 3 gona let me short? Robin Hood Platinum ?
>>2780060
Just a little I hope you recover. Honestly I would try and ride it out, but I also chase.
>>2780130
I would have invested at 140 but I didn't know Robinhood took 3 days to confirm
I'm gonna baghold for now, NVDA is gonna wreck earnings (I hope)
>>2780060
If you plan on holding long term, then no.
>>2780146
yeah, that's my plan, just that it's my first stock and I'm nervous lol
Unironically kys
>>2780172
>b-but the crash.
I've been hearing this shit for the last 5 years and nothing's happened. Trying to time it out is absolutely retarded.
>>2780188
Everything wasn't so overbought, commodities like silver weren't so goddamn oversold that they cost more to produce than the market will buy them for, etc.
Sorry but bad employment numbers are coming and shits going to be popping this year. Trump-bubble is over.
Go into forex or commodities.

Would somebody analyze XTGI pls? Had some really good news yesterday and is up overnight.
>>2780703
I was thinking the same thing I'm gonna wait for a dip and scalp it.
You guys think MNKD will moon today or should I sell at open?
>>2781220
Eh fuck it i put a stop loss order. If it moons great if not I won't lose sleep over it
Here ya go boys

LOOKS LIKE SWING IS BACK ON THE MENU BOYS
So what time interval should I be watching these charts?
1min? 3min?
>>2781410
Thanks bb
>>2780544
I am very tempted to buy some shares. But I am pretty unsure about it as a long term hold. Do you have any idea how many new users they have been getting recently compared to previous years?
Who else is still holding ARLZ to sell today?
>>2781410
Can someone explain to me what this means? Is it change in stock price between yesterday market close and pre market today? Is this how you find those moon missions before the shuttle has left earth?
UVXY $35 by Monday.
>>2781544
Edit: Make that $32.
>>2781544
you keep hoping trump gets into shit you commie
turn off CNN it's just another nothing burger
consumer price index (CPI, important indicator for inflation) figures have missed expectations, Dollar index has taken a dive on this news (as it implies the economy may not be as strong as the Fed believes, and will likely have implications on rate hikes).
The drop in the dollar index has resulted in a spike in bids on the precious metals.
>>2781541
Assuming from yesterday people look at what's about to pop before open and they try to get in and ride it as high as it can get then sell.
Again, I'm assuming. If someone wants to correct me
>>2781541
the first part is right
but the moon mission already happen, it's really just trying to get a ride between the moon and mars (ie catch a 2-10% scalp usually)
You can use the red so you know what to try to catch the bounce on. Sometimes they rip up at open. Otherwise the red is nice to know what to short in case you have a broker that allows you to short.
>>2781551
No it's going to 1-4 reverse split.
Guys look at TCCO
If it can stay at that $4 support I think it'll have a nice run for a swing
>>2781597
kek well you're still a commie
>>2781573

I get that the deep green is already very high but you don't think the 4-5%ers can go higher?
>>2781605
I'm a capitalist, and I voted for Trump.
I think BONT will go for another run
Looking like a strong open for Nasdaq today, idk why though, Dow seems to be having some trouble.
The fact that CPI numbers missed expectations is making me a little worried about upcoming earnings reports.

don't wanna go off on a tangent, but i hate these environmentalist libtards who say coal and gas are bad, but nuclear is fine. I like the prospects of their technology, but I'm tired of the trickery

Oil is gonna die a slow death my friend. Every day news comes out about X country ran this many days on renewable energy. That's bad. It's mostly Europe right now but it'll spread.

Or how geothermal accelerates the cooling of the Earth's core, which will cause a disturbance in the magnetosphere and lead to solar wind seriously fucking the planet's atmosphere. The environmentalists can't win unless everybody goes back to living in thatched huts similar to parts of Africa.

I fucking hate this tick program, it's fucking up my entire trading strategy. I want to set a buy stop for CGI at 3.01, but I can only do 3.05. If I get 3.05 I'll just get spread back down to 3.00. I can't trade this shit

So what happened during her first testimonial was that she essentially re-iterated justification for a rate hike, along with balance sheet reduction, claiming the low inflation, was transitory. But you're right, she said she wanted to reach a more "neutral" fed rate, which is relatively dovish.
Thing is though, the market then took this to mean the Fed believed the economy was strong enough to be able to handle a rate hike, therefore, was a bit of increase in the Dow and Nasdaq, the dollar index also increased, and the precious metals also fell a bit (ten yr notes as well).
However, today, CPI data came out under expectation, and this adds to the case against a rate hikes, or at least to push them back further. This is because it shows the economy may not be strong enough to handle a rate hike, as inflation seems to already be quite low.
So I don't believe the market would rally off of poor CPI data (meaning less of a chance for a rate hike). If that actually is the case, then I'm obviously missing something.

What were you thinking? Seriously. Walk me through the thought process that leads you to hand money over to a couple late 20s guys who made a disappearing dick pic app that not only doesn't make any money but is losing money at a growing rate per added user? That, in their initial filings, state they 'may never become profitable'? The issue, furthermore, consisted of class C shares - with zero voting power - as opposed to B (one) and A (100 - held almost exclusively by founders); not even bonds, which guarantee some measure of recompense should the enterprise end up dead.
You made a zero percent loan that a vaporware company. Actually, that's insulting to loans - you just handed money over to someone on the idea that maybe, sometime down the road, they might make money and could maybe give you some of it. You see their latest quarterly? 2.2B loss - 2 billion USD in 'stock related expense' - insiders cashing out. You literally helped buy a ferrari for some fuckhead in silicon valley.
You should feel bad.

I wasn't really thinking... I just wanted to see waht would happen. It was one of the first stocks I ever bought. I was learning how to invest (I still am). Indeed, I've always seen it as shitty company with no history, no future, and no profitable products.

but yet you still bought it?
Invest in some solid companies that are on the djia or s&p that give dividends. Then use about 20% of your portfolio on higher risk trades like companies under 50mill market cap
>>2783669
>but yet you still bought it?
I was testing my intuition... I looked at the chart. The price was low, so it seemed as if it would go up. I thought 'fuck it, if I lose money I'll recover later'. Turns out my intuition was wrong and I learned a lesson.

try to look at market cap of the company in comparison to the actual company.
If a company has a market cap of 1 billion dollars and only has 100 million in assets and loses money every year, theres a good chance that stock will fall.
the pps really doesn't say much when you are trying to put a value on the company. The market cap compared to balance sheet, cash flow and income statment is the best way to determine where a companys stock price is headed.

Buy the dip man it's like free money. Anyone can trade stocks it's easy all you've gotta do is buy the dip. The stock market never goes down it only goes up easy money.

>like the rest of the tripfags.
i've been in these threads for well over a year and i've seen so many tripfags come and go out of these threads. Amazes me people listen to them as if they are any better than any other trader. He already admited his portfolio is going to zero. Its not the market. its him

>>2784126
how does option trading work. would be nice if you could post some screenshots of your positions and explain a bit
>>2784153
>what is sarcasm.
>>2784156
I have no clue what I'm doing.
>>2784163

Looking for some set and forget stocks to slowly put money into. Should i do a 4x ETF or nah?
>>2784156
The way I understand it is I now have a contract to buy 5000 shares of VXX at $11.50 on or before next Friday. So if this shit drops to 11.50 my options are worthless and I lose all the money I spent to open the position, but if it goes to 12.50 I can just sell the contracts and make 5 grand.
>>2784180
just by SPEX and NAK and look back in a few years when you're rich
>>2784163
it doesnt matter what the price of uvxy is its irrelevant its price is based on what the vix does. when trading uvxy only look at the price of vix and you can make it.
>>2784180
on the indices right now? nah, wait till at least after earnings finish coming out for the big boys, which should be some time into August I guess
>>2783713
Intuition is shit. Reports are what makes you money. https://stockrow.com/ review the financials and see what kind of debt, profits and what they have in the pipeline as far as products/news. $SNAP is a meme stock. It has no real income, it's entirely boosted off of investor speculation driving the stock price up. Compare that to $AMD which has shitloads of products coming out and good news surrounding it. Which one is the long term hold? It's AMD. You may watch the price flucate 3 bucks in a week but that company is solidly run and any debt they have is due in 2021. Having 80% of your money in solid investments is on point. You'll get a few % per week off of it maybe. That last 20% of investment is the hellzone that makes your portfolio break the S&P500 average gains per year stat. Grow your portfolio, not gamble it.
>>2784182
how much can you lose
>>2784182
please stop. you're going to lose all of your money because you don't understand how options work. What you're about to do is like playing slots
>>2784126
VXX long exposure is good risk/reward right here IMO
all time high market with VX in the 10's
don't go too heavy on those VXX calls though, although you can hit easy 10 baggers with the right market correction
i use mainly as overall portfolio hedge although as i previously stated I'd overweight here due to market conditions
Guys, please be careful on anything which goes long on VIX, this market is heavily biased towards over-optimism I feel. VIX has continually been smashed down.
>>2784219
VIX kind of has a mathematical floor. It can go down maybe 5% from here but no lower
>>2784200
About $2,850
>>2784201
This lesson is going to be cheaper than going to school for this shit.
uvxy and tvix ARE manipulated and the price of them should not be used to make an investment in vix. ONLY look at the price of vix and you can make money. vix is pure and untouched its a beautiful creature.
What a retarded week
>>2784284
Welcome to the LODE train.
