Tech bouncing back--edition

-- Robinhood FAQs --
- VISIT THE WEBSITE FIRST DAMMIT!! - www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using tradingview.com, stockcharts.com, finviz.com, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

OP currently posting from the UK which is why the thread may seem posted too early for my Ameribros. But it's never to early to chase memes.

Tech and e-commerce has slumped really hard last month and is finally beginning to show signs of recovery. It's not too late to buy the dips. Currently holding
>AMAT

>SHOP

>Currently bag-holding $S

>PRTK expected to release really good Phase 3 results at the end of the month. This shit's gonna be $40 by the end of the year

Other recommendations

i'm a retard too so my answer won't be that good, but it's basically one of the only ways to figure out which stocks might actually move, based on premarket activity
>>
>>2747439
please explain this. I would be thankful but I don't understand it
>>
>>2747501
the gap % is how much they're up from their closing prices on Friday. with the red chart, it's how much they're down.

this information doesn't guarantee anything, really. some shit that gaps up crashes immediately, some skyrockets, sometimes nothing happens, etc. but it gives you an idea of what's happening in the market ahead of time.
>>
>>2747501
>>2747487
>>2747500
These are the stocks that have moved up after hours/pre market, usually due to good news. They often times continue into the morning but usually fade after 10:30 or even earlier depending on the nature of the news.

Basically you use these lists to find stocks that aren't just going to move with the market as usual. These are what are "popping off" if you pick up what I'm putting down

Can you give a noob one book suggestions? Preferably the one must read about trading.
>>
>>2747563
for trading? That's a youtube thing, too visual for a book.

Look up Tim Grattani to learn how to make money short side (you'll need a different broker than RH but there's a lot of money to be made there) otherwise I follow Warrior Trading on YouTube too. People think warrior trading is a sham but what he says makes sense to me he's just level 9001 at trading so it's intimidating too

>>
JNUG

Gold looks like it's going to have a huge break today

could be a 10%= day for JNUG

make sure you manage risk
>>
I know JNUG doesn't 100% follow gold, but gold price does influence it, and I'm just not confident in gold uptrending atm, which is why I'd advise against it. But it seems to be finding some support according to the today's candlestick. I'm more of a swing trader who follows trends, but if you're in and out with JNUG, then you do you.

If you guys want to stop losing money and want a non meme stock, consider PIRS. It is not going to make you rich over night but it has been rising by 1-3% everyday for the past 2 months. Its still cheap enough to make you some cash, I have been making about $50 a day from it for the past 2 weeks. It will probably hit around $10 in a few months.
>>
>>2747977
jesus. i wish i bought that shit around May 1st, wtf
>>
>>2747941
Sure did, I'm fine with what's happening so far. I've gotten into the habit of buying half my intended shares at one price and then setting another order for the other half at a lower price in case it continues to fall. If it starts heading up, no sweat; gains are gains even if it was only half of what I intended to get. I'm thinking of setting the order for my next half at .122 since there's another big buy wall at .12 and the bag holders from .30+ have surely all sold by now.

Dudes if I like in a eastern european city with no stock exchange, and a very minor stock exchange in the capital can I use robinhood to trade stocks?
Are there any downsides when compared to trading at an actual stock exchange?
>>
>>2748427
I've only been making $50-70 a day for the past month, which for me is pretty good because I work a minimum wageslave job. Its better than making $300-500 on one good penny stock and then losing more than that on 3-5 bad penny stocks. The stress of penny stocks are to much for me, i'd rather live comfy and make $50-75 everyday without checking robinhood every 5 minutes stressing out over pennystocks.

You clearly don't understand how this works. If you doubled your money in those "on and off" 2 years, you'd still be making over 30% returns annually if you're getting 15 per day.

This story doesn't add up because your idea of stocks aren't based in reality. It's not a way to get rich in 2 years, it's a way to get rich in 30 years.

This company is bleeding money and they have maybe two quarters left before they need to dilute more. Anybody know about the coming catalyst for this stock?

all biotechs bleed, including ones that are priced much higher than their operations. Argos Therapeutics is supposed to announce potential bids for being bought out.
>>
If anyone's looking for a long term biotech play, I'd recommend PULM. They got good news from the FDA back in January and pumped up to 6 bucks. They got some designation for market exclusivity for their cystic fibrosis drug. They also have this technology that allows patients to inhale drugs instead of taking pills or shots. It's called iSperse. They have been licensing the technology to other companies as well to develop an inhaled version of their drugs. Market cap is only 44 million and the possible market for both their CF drug and their iSperse technology is huge. I bought the pump back in the beginning of the year and now i just bought back in. I'm going to hold into 2018 and see what happens

I recently started investing in the stock market. I purchased my first shares in 3 companies Friday. I used the Robinhood app which is great, but I also want to invest in precious metals and when I try to look up sertain stock such as JNUG I get no results. My questions are:
Is now a good time to invest in gold, silver, etc.?

How can I invest without outrageous fees and where?

P.s. I am a teen with around $1500 to invest ($300 already in stock market).

>>2750958
Well if you have ah trading I think it's worth a gamble. ah order book has lots of bids and very thin asks. Very least this will make some shorts cover. Best case scenario, it's november 2016 again. I bought 1500 shares just now
>>
>>2750895

Right now you have a strong dollar, so the prices of all your commodities are relatively cheap. What you need to ask your self is what kind of time frame are you looking at for your investments? I mean at your age you can be as aggressive as you want with your investments because you have plenty of time to make more money if shit hits the fan. I mean the leveraged shit like JNUG pretty much decays over time and reverse splits to keep the price artificially high. Just look at the 5 year chart on that son of bitch, it's just for pattern trading and not something you can hold long term. Something relatively easy would be to invest into something that follows one of the indexes such as SPY follows the S&P.

>Dividend & Yield 9.75 (928.64%)

>>
>>2751447
DryShips stock gets wiped out on average every ~40 days.
The last dividend was handed out like two reverse splits ago, the stock price has been reset and regular shareholders wiped out twice since then.

DryShips has used about half of the recapitalization money it has agreed so far, there will be many more dilutions and wipe-outs in the months to come.

Regular investors will be left holding nothing, it is inevitable.
