Poorfag here. I have been hearing a lot of wallet recommendations. The hardware ones that include alt coins seem expensive, but I dont want my wallet to be hacked. Are there any reasonably priced hardware wallets that suit my needs? I have online wallets for most of the big coins and I leave the alts on Poloniex

I just use online software - blockchain - for my bitcoin, so if my computer packs up I can still access it online without fearing of losing it all. DO NOT USE COINBASE FOR STORAGE.

Cold storage (on a usb stick etc) is all well and good but it can also get corrupted and expensive, but if you have thousands of ££££ portfolio then its a good idea.

Hardware wallets are to microsoft office, as software wallets are to google drive.

I prefer google drive.

Which linux OS is best? Would the computer be used just for that purpose?

I have more than just bitcoin - that's the problem. I looked into blockchain and it doesn't seem to offer more

In Exodus you can store Augur, Bitcoin, Dash, Decred, Doge, Eth, Golem and Lite which is very secure

Ok! Good to know. Right now, my ripple wallet is on Bitstamp. Thoughts?

You Sir, are an idiot and have no clue what a hardware wallet is.

Any bootable OS will do really. The idea is to have a clean 100% malware free machine. It is just an extra step.
You can create ETH and token offline wallets with MEW and even sign transactions offline.
If you use a bootable OS you don't need a separate machine

If the other side gets infected, wouldnt the bootable os be affected?
