What's the best way to go about applying for an internal position?
This may be a dumb question but this is my first 'real' job out of college and I'm at the point where I can start applying for promotions. We just use the external job listing website but log-in with our employee numbers.
From a purely political / social perspective, do I have to ask my boss to get their 'blessing'? Or can they just see my name on some HR person's email one day and deal with it?
Also, how does the interview work as a not total stranger greenhorn? Are they going to ask me where I see myself in five years again?
