There are many tutorials online on how to trade. The methods used for trading forex/stocks are still applicable to crypto.

Do not invest more than you're willing to lose.
Absorb all the knowledge you can about what you're investing in. Knowing what is a short / long-term hold is a good skill if you don't want to end up a DGB bag holder.
Being able to read a community's consensus on an investment is important. Using ETH as an example, people are becoming pessimistic due to being taken advantage of by ICOs, which reduces hype and drives down new investment until a significant change (e.g. Metropolis) occurs. Short-term pessimism and long-term optimism is a good combo to buy in and go long on.
The most important thing is just knowing when to get out. Your gains aren't real until they're realized in your target asset (fiat, btc, metals, etc.). Don't be greedy.
