Trying to make some money to go see the 2020 olympics in person, thinking about stock trading.
Thing is, I know nothing about stock trading, can you help me out /biz/? Point me towards a good good beginners site? Would I even be able to make a good amount of money in three years?

Tell you what, give me 100% of your money and I'll give you 90% back. That's better than you're going to do in stocks as a beginner.

investopedia is a good starter site.
from my own experience, trading is such a personal thing, your strategy should be based on your specific strengths and weaknesses. in other words, don't listen to anybody else's specific trading advice and definitely don't follow into somebody else's trade just because they said it can't lose. figure out your own strategy that works for you. there are (over) a million different angles to take.

oh yeah, also forgot to mention ignore all the assholes who have nothing better to do than heap their own regrets and failures on you by telling you how or why you can't do something.
