Let's pretend cryptocurrencies actually get mass adoption. Wouldn't mining operations be targets for terrorist attacks? What would happen to bitcoin today if someone took out one of the large mining setups?

nothing...if mining stopped transactions would stop or slow down for a bit, but then mining difficulty would adjust and it would become more lucrative so more people would mine. market would adjust. it was designed to be decentralized, remember?

If someone took out a large mining location they might take down 5% of the hashpower or so tops. That's not going to meaningfully impact any transactions or network security.

China needs to side with america in a potential conflict, it is their only way of self preservation., Plus, when the dust settles they will get a nice slice of america's ear when it comes to China's African Expansion plans.
