I get that being house poor, or having a really nice house but not being able to afford anything else is a thing. But does the opposite exist, where you live in a shitty house or in a ghetto neighborhood and use your extra money on vacation or whatever?

Does living in my mother's shitty house count? I've spent 4 months travelling the past year.
I had a neighbor like that once. He drove a new Range Rover and would take vacations every other month.

I pay 1.5k for inner city condo, net around 8k usd.
Technically my apartment is on the poorer end, but i dont need more. Noz using spare money for vacation though, just pumping it into crypto and or saving it.

Yes it exists. Neighborhoods where people live in $50-100K shitshacks and drive Porsches, Mercedes, have a boat, and wear expensive clothing.
My exes parents were former hippies -> professors that lived in a tiny ~100k house, one car, and they would take nice vacations
