>(SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE) The Straits Times has received word that Vitalik Buterin, known for the creation of the internet infrastructure known as "Ethereum", was arrested in the early morning hours of June 29th by the Singapore Police Force. Police also were seen carrying computer equipment away from the scene. According to an Inspector we spoke with, who asked that his identity remain hidden, the charges stem from an investigation into allegations that Buterin participated in a worldwide child pornography distribution operation using the Ethereum network, and that "Ether" (a form of currency used to fund services on Ethereum) was used to launder the profits of the participants. Buterin is currently held at Changi Prison Complex. His first court appearance is June 30th at 9:00AM.
