Has Ethereum failed as a concept?

Yes ethereum's smart contracts aren't useful because external conditins can't be enforced. The only thing it is useful is trading ethereum for ethereum
IT'S USELESS
all cryptos are retarded scam shitcoins
they will not replace any currencies
they are for autists and clowns

Give me one example of smart contracts working well on a large scale.
>transfer from exchange to wallet took a whole day
Yeah I'm not sold on it

I'd say the ERC20 ICOs are about as large scale as you can get and the contracts worked just fine
Same problem btc has. No one will use it as a currency because it's better to just hodl
That pizza or weed you buy can potentially cost you hundreds or thousands by spending it now.
Likewise, why make smart contracts when you can just hold eth and dump it when you're ready.
Plenty of newbies coming in everyday and buying into the potential if hype, so old money can just ride the roller-coaster as many times as they want

It's now digibyte's time to rise!
