Problem with tethering to USDT is that "if/when" the market begins to trend upward it could be very bullish. There is no grantee you will buy in for what you put in if that circumstance happens.

Otherwise USDT is a good bet if you're just interested in preserving your USD value.

Just set a BTC buy order at a conservative level. Right now USDT is hovering around 2330 per BTC, and it hit a low of 2050. Set buy orders around 2100 per BTC, and you'll probably be safe. Even if it continues to go down further, you've mitigated more damage than any other alternative.
