Sub $100 billion thread.

Reminder: While real companies will use blockchain tech, they are never ever ever going to use one that had an ICO, the tax implications are too fucked.

Crypto will only ever be for illegal shit bought by a bunch of neckbeard internet nerds, which means it's overvalued as fuck right now.

Ethereum had an ICO, it's 2nd

What bullshit are you even on about ? ICO just means Initial coin offering, even Bitcoin had an initial opening sale

Most people in corporate companies who go on about "blockchain tech" don't know what they're talking about. Its a buzzword meme that will die because the utility of blockchain is in trustless value routing, not identity

i wouldn't say anything about its actual value, since it's like trading pokemon cards or antiques. some people think that having bitcoin is an "investment" while others think it's a kick back against traditional banks and governments.

there is literally nothing useful about cryptocurrency. it's a gimmick right now. the underlying technology will be adopted for fiat to get rid of a few middle men, but it's actually unlikely that you'll be spending less in fees when you do banking or certain kinds of transfers. that will depend on what people are willing to pay in fees.

you could prune like 30% of government jobs and 50% of banking jobs today without any change in technology. people are just willing to pay enough that they'll hire staff to do little random things or be there "just in case." in pharma we have the same shit, we'll work like 2-3 months in a year at a standard plant, and even if it's a year-round facility only the analysts do any work, 2/3 of the company just reviews documents and it goes around in circles (nobody really catches the errors past the immediate supervisor though).

my point is that the core principles of crypto for transactions or security are meaningless to people. it will be a slow adoption to be used by the same institutions that control how transactions already work. and we're only at the phase where it's a bunch of get-rich-quick scams and empty promises.
