In any case OP, you want to create a strong offer for your buyer, ask yourself " Who is my audience, and hat sort of experience do I want to give them?" and tailor your marketing round those answers.

It's about creating the imagery that appeal to the game's audience that draws them.

A good game will sell. A good game that's marketed will sell and have a legion of rabid fan boys that will talk about it, create fan art, and just generally give it attention so other people take notice. Also, it creates loyalty, even if someone creates a clone of your equal in quality they will stay with the original instead of the clone.
