If you loan out at a rate of 2% but the coin drops 10% then you still lose...

Yeah but only IF it drops .. had the same thing with some other coin a month ago, lending fees were at around 2% but it went up the next days.
But given the current situation of the market I won't bet against the bearish trend I guess

except that's 2% per DAY. If you loan for 5 days you broke even, and then if you hold until the price goes back up then you just made money
