Am I the only one who thinks we will use blockchain techonology to vote in 10-15 years?
>decentralized (impartial, no need for international observers)
>completely anonymous
>much faster automated recount
>we could even have a recount on real time (altho this would be a bad thing cause it biases those who didn't vote yet but it's possible)
>secure, cannot be rigged, one key one vote
Doesn't seem like a crazy idea to me.

Not everyone lives in a 3rd world country my friend. That includes Amurica.

The problem is not the tech.
It's how the fuck do you sell it to the public.

your incredibly naive

>he thinks democracy is a good thing
anon...

anon i could see it being sold to governments/ local councils desu. but i personally dont think it will be adopted by the majority, at least in a pure un corrupted form

If it could actually fix crooked elections, there's not a chance in hell this will ever see implementation.
Here's how it'll go down
>block chain voting tech comes out
>nextbigthing.jpg
>media frenzy
>politicians look into it
>"oh fuck its the real deal"
>first test election comes out
>some small town local that normally nobody cares about
>media circus
>somebody sabotages the election (inserts backdoored private block chain, 51% attack, smear campaign even though it works, etc)
>block chain voting permanently cast as a "pipe dream" or "it'll be nice when it's ready" technology
>voting doesn't change
>people asking about verifiable chain irregularities shot down as conspiracy theorists and naive technophiles
"Good thing we have our reliable paper ballots, eh, voters?"

Mate, it's meant to avoid corruption. In theory, it cannot be rigged.

democracy IS a good thing but letting everyone be a citizen isn't.

maybe but democracy is cancer that trends towards an authoritarian dystopia
