With all the slowing down I'm starting to get nervous. I know I shouldn't but I've been planning my life expecting that ETH hits 1000$ within a year.

You shouldn't be basing your life around things like this unless you're viewing it as a long-term HODL investment
If you don't feel comfortable purchasing ETH, then leaving the internet completely without even checking /biz/ or the price of ETH even one time, then you shouldn't be having these expectations
And quite frankly you shouldn't be having them in general because even if ETH were hypothetically the best crypto in existence and guaranteed to be Web3.0, it may not do this for years and we might see a bear market for years.
