At what point do you give up on a coin? a week? a month? three months? a year?

If it doesn't go up at least 20% as soon as I buy it, I sell

When it is at an all time low and you bought all time high.

1-2 quarters. It's a damn investment. This board is nothing but pump and dumps.

I don't ever sell. The only coin I ever 'got out' of was Lisk, and even then I kept the majority of my coins.
>>
I would say 2 years. ETH took forever to break $15 for good

Obviously depends on what it's doing, if it's going up then I hold, if it stagnates then I just cut my losses when I think there's something better. Generally try to within a week. If it goes down heavily I just hold. I don't put a lot of money into things that have a chance to go down heavily though.
.
Just wasted a week on WAVES. Bought at 24000 sat a week ago, waited and waited and waited, stupid shit dropped down to 20000 and has just hovered there the past week, I couldn't even sell at what I bought. Luckily, I didn't put all my money into it or anything.
Anyway, I took it out yesterday and put it into STARTcoin and LBRY and it's paid off way more than if I had left it in WAVES, as you can see, the crap still isn't moving.
Time is money and if you're wasting time you're wasting money.

HODL for at least 3 years before you even ask that question

I gave up on PND ages ago, but i was only holding it as part of the whole wolong thing (i mined never bought). forgot about it and suddenly it was pumped a few satoshi, i had 4mil so i made a couple hundred of that.

Same, this is why I'm asking because all of my coins are slightly lower/stagnating for a week and it's making me impatient.

Depends on the coin. I buy if I see potential for growth. If the developers have promised new updates, updates I consider substantial and important, I will buy the coin and wait for those updates, usually 8 months to a year if I have to.

If there's no big updates as far as I can see, I might sell in a month or 2 if it's going nowhere. If I think simply that the value will go up as it catches on, I might not sell for years.
