They look identical every day. It's because 90% of trading is algorithm trading, and it has a divested portfolio that it trades the same.

Because for the past day there's no reason for the relative value between BTC and ETH to change. There's lots of volume for the BTC <-> ETH trade pair, so they easily maintain the same ratio. Meanwhile they're both falling in $ value which results in the $ graphs looking the same.
