You're right about the motivation for people right now (low in->right now) but the "no value" idea is short sighted. Yes, you don't buy anything substantial, but in contrast to other Ponzi schemes, there is the idea that eventually normies are gonna use it as transaction unit (when the price stabilizes) and if that happens (i.e. when people start using it for something else than trading itself) then it won't collapse (not any more than the dollar might collapse). Of course, that's an IF, and that's the gamble.

Exchanges are the entity controlling the price & exchange of the coins into fiat and the hands of others. Why do you think coinbase and other exchanges repeatedly shut down to control a price crash? Why do you think there is sometimes as a high as a $100 or more difference in price between different exchanges? Why are they trading at different set prices? The exchanges can easily drop the price of any coin on their market by a dimes & nickels and cash out a small percentage of your coins behind the scenes making them millions over the long run. There is so much manipulation and dishonesty in cryptocurrency.

That's not true. Exchanges run it. Without them as middle men you can't do shit with these coins. They can also manipulate the price if they want to or steal small percentages of the coins they're holding behind the scenes (without your knowledge). All the exchanges have different rates on buying/selling a coin.

With fiat, you always know $1 = $1. With crypto $1 can equal a different price for a coin depending on the exchange. It's weird as fuck. There is no regulations. Exchanges can manipulate and lie as they please...
