I use electrum. Don't need a backup if just print out multiple physical copies of your 24 word recovery phrase and your private keys. Keep them somewhere very safe if you have a lot in them. Think of your house burns down or something and your computer and hard copies of private keys are gone there is No way to get your coins back. If you have a place to do so, you should bury a copy in water proof container (5 Gallon home Depot bucket with lid, big too so you're less likely to lose it).

Just keep ur shit on the exchange. It's safer than most hot wallets.

Yeah but just the other day some big name wallets got hacked. Jaxx and freewallet. Use myetherwallet it's your best option
