Have you read the COMIT whitepaper?
http://www.comit.network/doc/COMIT%20white%20paper%20v1.0.2.pdf
Making payments instant no matter what currency. Point of sale conversion of crypto to fiat in real time, <300ms.
It was developed by Tenx.tech, but the actual COMIT network is opensource, and runs under an MiT license so anyone can contribute or utilize this network.
My questions are: What are they missing in this system? What does this leave to be desired - what are the pain points? Does anyone know of any competitors or a similar concept? Could this be achieved in a way where centralized liquidity providers are not needed; in other words would it be possible to take fragments from multiple people to convert currency rather than needing liquidity from singular nodes to move the transaction along?
I am very interested in this type of tech. This is making movements toward the future of finances and the way we spend and receive money. But I wonder if COMIT is the best answer or if they are missing some things.

ARK - smartbridges

Can smartbridges allow for real time transactions or conversion of cryptocurrency into fiat? for the purpose of making crypto spendable IRL.

The missing point is, soon to be forgotten problem - that of liquidity solved by Bancor protocol.

im int he middle of reading the whitepaper right now so forgive me if this isnt fully correct -
but I see how the continuous liquidity provided by smart tokens allows for to move between cryptocurrencies at any time, instantly, with no regards to trading volume, and that is great. But what about non-blockchain assets? Is there a way provided through Bancor protocol to instantly switch from smart tokens / crypto to fiat currency in a Point of Sale transaction? Thank you for pointing me towards the Bancor Protocol btw very interesting.
