You could hand-wave the lack of activity in XRP as a long-term consolidation, but in general it's been lagging behind nearly ALL other cryptos, indicating either price manipulation or some other strange factor. It's possible a whale is quietly exiting a position, or is trying to hold things down so as to pump it up a silly amount in the neat future.

It's "Satoshi", some people like to trade using BTC as a currency basis instead of fiat. Basically the bitcoin version of Ford vs Chevy. With a few exceptions, I haven't found a reason to stop using USD.
