Just buy. I was comparing it to the bubble of the dotcom, and it was way bigger, basically 10-20x times bigger in terms of money. So, you are still early for money.
Also, there's a chance it is not going to crash if it is going to actually be implemented.

I don't understand what you're worried about. If your goal is to get altcoins then just buy Bitcoins and then immediately trade them.
